VETERANO

Some may try to classify Veterano as a Hip Hop producer although he considers himself more of an artist. Being that his more well known works include producing for Hip Hop notables like Skillz, Planet Asia, Ras Kass, and Eminem’s supergroup Slaughterhouse, you would quickly put him in the sonic category of a Madlib, J.Dilla, Nottz, or The Alchemist. However, once you’ve listened to his latest offering “Good Form” on 3sixty5 Records/The Fairview Group, you will quickly realize that you are being taken on a distinct journey by a real musician. A virtuoso of sorts.

Veterano’s recent signing to the Bay Area/San Diego label 3sixty5 Records/The Fairview Group  landed the San Francisco producer a three album deal when Walt Liquor (Planet Asia, Mystic, Jake One, Maroon 5) the label’s co-owner discovered Veterano’s creative instincts. Liquor, together with his partner Koncept, signed the young producer after enlisting his production for personal projects.

I came in for a meeting. They liked my music, they liked my ideas, and they liked me. Koncept and
Walt gave me a license to be completely free. They let me do what I wanted.

Today, what Veterano wants is to create music a distant way from his Hip Hop roots. With experience that catered to a range of artists and their visions, Veterano’s always-evolving ear buds led to a sound that encompasses and intertwines a multitude of genres, including electronic; symphony; rock; ambiance music; and lounge.

I've never considered myself a Hip Hop producer, but more so someone who has a lot to offer through various kinds of music . I'm 28 years old. At this point in my life I want to fully realize my potential by creating music that reflects who I am today. My perpetual evolution as a human being will always show in my work.

Personal growth led to creative development which resulted in “Good Form,” the first of Veterano’s three projects with 3sixty5 Records. An album as conceptual as it is experimental, it may very well please music and art connoisseurs alike via a simultaneous art exhibition/listening party in San Francisco which is set to feature 13 pieces of art work in correlation with each of the “Good Form” tracks.

In my own life, I’m practicing “Good Form.” The music is dictated by the way I present myself today. I like to go to the theater; I like to go to wine tasting events. The music is for people with a more acquired taste.

Three music videos are currently planned for shooting, all designed to highlight both art and music of Good Form. Visuals are just as important as the music, says Veterano of a photo in which he holds a telescope, and which will accompany one of “Good Form’s” singles. I call that space sailing.

GOOD FORM will be release in 2013.
